Obituary for Ella Louise McKee
Mrs. Ella Louise Allen McKee departed this life on Thursday, May 18, 2017. She was a devoted member of the St. Louis Street Missionary Baptist Church. There she served faithfully as a deaconess, Nurses Aid, Culinary Ministry, and a member of Progressive Worker and Senior Choir, until her health declined.
She was passionate about her work for the Lord, the church, her family, cooking, sewing, and fishing. Ella was preceded in the death by her husband, Thomas McKee; father, James and mother, Mary Crawford; two daughters, Mary Margaret Allen and Linda Louise Allen Ely; and one son, Wayne Allen.
She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Joseph (Jewel) Allen, Samuel (Barbara) Allen, Joann Henderson, Sandra (Carl) Thrash, Eulene Allen, Jane (Max) McGill; one nephew, Harold; two nieces, Geraldine and Katie; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of friends and relatives.
Her remains will lie in state 2-6pm Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Small’s Mortuary, Mobile. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at the St. Louis Street Missionary Baptist Church, 108 North Dearborn Street, Mobile, AL. Interment will follow in the Whispering Pines Cemetery, Eight Mile, AL.
