Obituary for Jerome Swopes
Mr. Jerome “Gee” Swopes of Jonesboro, GA., a native of Millry, AL, passed away in Riverdale, GA. Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was born July 8, 1967 to Rev. Robert Swopes of Mobile, AL. and Mrs. Mary Florence Swopes White of Millry, AL. He is survived by his wife, Mrs.Theo Swopes; daughter, Sheena Swopes; a fraternal twin brother, Mr.Tyrone(Quan) Swopes, another brother, Bobby Swopes; one granddaughter, Moriah Reasor; three uncles; Lonnie (Bessie) Swopes, Billy G. (Janet) Swopes ,and J. B. (Dannie Mae) White; three aunts, Lilly Rhodes, Iola Jordan, and Virginia Jordan; a great aunt, Mollie Mae James; a host of other relatives,and friends that will cherish his memories for a lifetime.
Visitation will be held Monday, May 29, 2017 from 12pm until the 1:30pm funeral hour at the New Hope AME Church. There will be a public viewing of the remains at 12:00 P.M. to 1:30 P.M. Rev. Ivory James of Jackson, AL. will officiate. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery in the New Hope Community of Millry, AL.
